DESCRIPTION

“The two holiday houses, Aufberg 1110 and 1113 are situated at 1,113 meters above sea level in the middle of the Hohe Tauern mountain range and Zell am See district. Calm thoughts and relaxation are in the air, spiced with the scents of pine forests.  Aufberg 1110 and Aufberg 1113, each with two separate apartments for 2-4 people, offer a modern and natural luxury. Experience complete liberty in a pure and well-appointed design surrounding.

The interior is as simple as luxurious. The spacious rooms are generously sized, fragrant wood dominates in all areas, open fireplaces provide natural warmth and perfectly equipped kitchens make the hobby cook happy. Natural materials such as loden wood and stone, warm colors and clear lines create the perfect setting to clear the head and relax. Amazing perspectives open from the gallery, balcony and terrace. The windows have views of the landscape, the mountains of the Hohe Tauern and the valley to the Zell am See.

Aufberg 1110 looks as if it were part of the steep slope. The roof follows the slope of the mountain and the house is entirely made of wood. Economical, sustainable and atmospherically warm, the natural larch formwork fuses the house with its surroundings and conveys interior warmth. The interior of the house surprises with a wonderful space that one would never expect from the outside.

Aufberg 1110 houses two apartments. 'Freisitz' has a 840 s.f. living area, a 96 s.f. gallery and 140 s.f. terrace, with space for up to 4 guests comfortably spread out on two floors.  The apartment offers you a cosy living space with a daybed, open fireplace, flat-screen TV with hard drive and a fully equipped kitchenette. The gallery on the second floor has a king size bed and a free-standing bathtub. In the bathroom you find a 'Just Rain' shower, sauna, hair dryer and bathrobes. On the balcony, you will be able to enjoy the sun’s energy in the early mornings and witness how the evening sun sinks behind the mountain tops.

The architecture of Andreas Meck is distinguished by its great simplicity.  The buildings convince by way of clear lines and generosity, defined by the combination of wood, natural stone, exposed concrete and glass. The reduction to the essentials creates clarity and stringency in the buildings, stimulate the imagination and invites you to inner contemplation.

In the words of the architect, the design of Aufberg could be described in the following manner:   Unexpected was the assignment for a second little house on the mountain. Related with the firstling but yet remaining independent. Both are creating a common place on the mountain. The building is simple and self-evident. Like sculpted out of the hillside. The roof follows the steep slope. Built completely out of wood it is economical, sustainable and atmospherical warm. The natural larch formwork of the facades will grow old gracefully. At the inside it is a miracle of space: different ceiling heights, galleries, two apartments. The windows are framing the view. Larchwood dominates the room, lodge feeling and an open fireplace: love and security.” aufberg.at
