DESCRIPTION

“The two holiday houses, Aufberg 1110 and 1113 are situated at 1,113 meters above sea level in the middle of the Hohe Tauern mountain range and Zell am See District. Calm thoughts and relaxation are in the air, spiced with the scents of pine forests.  Aufberg 1110 and Aufberg 1113, each with two separate apartments for 2-4 people, offer a modern and natural luxury. Experience complete liberty in a pure and well-appointed design surrounding.

Aufberg 1113 houses two apartments. 'Schwalbennest' (the swallow’s nest) is suitable for 2-4 people and comprises a 785 s.f. living area and offers a spectacular, panoramic view through a complete, south-sided glass front. On the terrace, you will enjoy the sun’s energy in the early mornings and witness how the evening sun sinks behind the mountain tops. The sleeping and living areas, which are separated by a sliding door, offer a cosy living landscape with a daybed, fireplace and open kitchen. There is a free-standing bathtub with a panoramic view in the bedroom, the bathroom is equipped with a shower, hair dryer and bathrobes. A walk-in closet offers a lot of space, and the flat-screen TV with DVD player rounds off the picture. Additionally, you have access to a small spa area with a sauna, a sheltered terrace area, as well as a garage.

The architecture of Andreas Meck is distinguished by its great simplicity.  The buildings convince by way of clear lines and generosity, defined by the combination of wood, natural stone, exposed concrete and glass. The reduction to the essentials creates clarity and stringency in the buildings, stimulate the imagination and invites you to inner contemplation.

In the words of the architect, the design of Aufberg could be described in the following manner:  A little cottage on a mountain. A steep slope. Spaces for sunny individuals. The southerly view directs ones eye towards glacier, and in two valleys. No ornament. A wall made of reinforced concrete lines the path into the house. The walls mime the high contours. A base developed to support a wooden construction. Lightly and cantilevered into the sun. The chimney forms the center of the house. Two apartments: The one withdrawn, the view framed like a picture on the wall, a patio and niche lined with grey loden. The other one extroverted, open, with a panoramic view from east to west, the terrace free floating in airy height."  aufberg.at
